The National Security Sector at Leidos has an opening for a mid level Oracle APEX Software Developer. Advanced level knowledge of APEX is required - versions 23.2.x or higher. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your expertise assisting the National Level Ammunition Capability (NLAC) mission. In this mission we provide all encompassing IT services to our DoD customer. You should also have a strong background of coding languages and technologies such as javascript frameworks, javascript, XML, JSON typically used and supported by Oracle APEX in building robust custom UIs. You will also have a strong proficiency in database development (Oracle 19c or higher). This would typically include: creating packages, procedures, functions, materialized views and complex SQL queries. In this role you work in a team environment to research, design, develop, and maintain a software system which is undergoing significant modernization. The candidate also would closely work with the system architect and adhere to the team's coding standards and best practices.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Develop robust enterprise UI applications (Oracle APEX and supporting technologies like Javascript, jQuery, CSS, HTML, XML and JSON)) based on specifications and under the guidance of SMEs and NLAC Systems Architect.
  • Prepare design and development documents. Performs analysis, development and maintenance of standards and security.
  • Participates in meetings with various leads; to understand requirements, and design reviews to build a robust design that meets the NLAC modernization specifications.
  • Uses industry best practices for standard naming conventions and coding practices to ensure consistency of code.
  • Develops and implements unit test cases.
  • Thrives in team environment and develop new solutions within a culture that embraces standard processes and delivery of high-quality solutions.
  • Cross trains with team members to learn and execute tasks using other related technologies.
  • Maintain and promote production operations.
  • Adheres to laws, standards, established guidelines and industry best practices for development and delivery of software applications.
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline with 4 or more years of relevant experience. Additional years of training, certifications, and/or expertise may be considered in lieu of education directives.
  • US Citizen; Currently possess an active DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain upon hire.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of Oracle APEX development (v23.2.x or higher). Demonstrated knowledge and use of coding languages and technologies (java scripting, jQuery JSON, XML, HTML etc.) to build robust user-friendly UI applications with the desired look and feel.
  • Oracle Database Design and development (19c or higher) with respect to the UI Application Development. This would include: creating packages, procedures, functions, materialized views and complex SQL queries.
  • Strong knowledge of data modeling concepts.
  • Maintain and enforce APEX, PL/SQL, JavaScript etc. development and coding standards.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills with ability to analyze issues, assess technical risks, and recommend sound solutions in a timely manner.
  • Strong working knowledge of SDLC methodology.
  • Goal oriented and self-motivated.
  • Proven abilities to work independently and/or within a team environment.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills with ability to create comprehensive engineering documents.
  • Ability to multi-task and deliver high quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to learn, excel and deliver at a quick pace is required.
  • Savvy in technical details and issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences and be able to clearly and concisely explain system concepts and problems.
Preferred Qualifications, Skills, and Education:
  • Master's degree in computer science or related discipline with 2 or more years of related experience.
  • CompTIA Security + Certification
  • Proficiency with PL/SQL
  • Proven abilities in ETL, data load process, and data migration.
  • Familiarity of DISA STIGS and how they influence and establish best practices within IT environment.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $81,250.00 - $146,875.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
