About the role:
As an industrial engineering intern, you will use knowledge obtained from core college courses. Working with other internal departments on similar engineering level to obtain information necessary to perform work assignments.
You will report to the Operational Excellence, Transformation & Strategic Planning Manager and be located at our Columbia location. This is a paid, full-time onsite summer position.

Key Responsibilities:
- aily Management Systems deployment and tracking & 5S Implementation and tracking in SharePoint
- Help with gap analysis assessments (Value Steam Mapping, maturity assessment, WMS)
- Monitor / validate progress towards our goals (Visual workplace, Policy Deployment)
- Coordinate A3 and 8D activities and assisting teams in tracking data
- Deploy advanced reporting systems to improve access to critical information by area management
- Lead Operational Excellence projects that are critical to short and long-term strategic goals
- Facilitate and coach improvement teams
- Help identify barriers to project success and solicit help from program champions
- Use WEC resources for learning in Six Sigma, Lean, WMS, technology, systems, processes and tools
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or appropriate business field
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Complete sophomore year of college
