About the role:
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer you will provide technical leadership and expertise in the design, analysis, modification, and support of mechanical systems and components for nuclear power plant operations. You will report to the Manager, Procurement Engineering and be located at our Rock Hill, SC facility. The position is hybrid; you will work on at our Rock Hill office and from home.

About the role:
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer you will provide technical leadership and expertise in the design, analysis, modification, and support of mechanical systems and components for nuclear power plant operations. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and plant-specific procedures, supporting safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance.
You will report to the Manager, Procurement Engineering and be located at our Rock Hill, SC facility. The position is hybrid; you will work on at our Rock Hill office and from home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and perform engineering evaluations, calculations, and analyses for mechanical systems, components, and equipment (e.g., pumps, valves, heat exchangers, piping, pressure vessels).
- Develop, review, and approve design changes, modifications, and engineering documents in accordance with plant procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical support for maintenance, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis of mechanical system issues.
- Prepare and review procurement specifications, engineering change packages, and work instructions.
- Interface with regulatory agencies, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams to resolve technical issues and ensure compliance.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and support staff.
- Participate in plant walkdowns, system health monitoring, and operability assessments.
- Support outage planning, execution, and post-outage reviews for mechanical systems.
- Ensure adherence to industry codes and standards (e.g., ASME, NRC, IEEE) and plant licensing basis.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (required)
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT)
- Minimum of 4 years of experience
- Demonstrated experience with mechanical system design, analysis, and troubleshooting in a regulated environment.
- Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE)
- Experience with equipment qualification, environmental and seismic analysis, and aging management programs.
- Power Plant experience
- Familiarity with nuclear plant licensing, modification processes, and configuration management.
- Proficiency with engineering software tools (e.g., ANSYS, AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
