Description:

Systems Administrator with our customer in the Knoxville Metro area. This person will be working with a team of 10 Systems team members that sits across the North American region. Their main responsibility will be support at this time with Virtual Window Servers (VMware) versions 2008/R2 , 2012 and 2016. Managing, deploying and maintaining servers, storage, backup and virtualization technologies. Performing analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of hardware, operating systems and software. Performing server administration tasks, including user/group administration, Patch Management through WSUS or SCCM, security permissions, group policies, print services, research event log warnings and errors, and resource monitoring. Remediation of escalated tickets, including Active Directory, Windows Server and Horizon VDI.

- The team is responsible for 1200 servers in their environment.

- Person will likely be on call 2-3 weeks out of the year on call (not initially), anything that they couldn’t resolve they would still have contact that could support them.

day to day:

- Initially working through the ticketing, handling breakfix issues, AD, group policy, and patching while learning the environment and meeting others.

- After a few months in the role, will start to cycle into some of their project based work starting with the 300 servers that need to be upgraded from 2012, storage/backup refresh, and AD cleanup to name a few.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

- Build, configure, deploy and maintain virtual windows servers (VMware)

- Active Directory administration

- VDI support and administration

- Perform analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of hardware, operating systems and software

- Remediation of escalated tickets for Active Directory, Windows Server and VDI

- Microsoft security patch management

- 5+ years’ experience with Windows server administration

- Demonstrated analysis and problem-solving skills

- Self-motivated and able to take ownership and responsibility

- Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences with focus on customer service

- Perform analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of hardware, operating systems and software

- Troubleshooting system issues, suggest enhancements to improve system performance as well as writing system scripts for daily administration and supporting documentation to automate repeatable tasks

- SCCM package creation and deployment

- Some on-call responsibilities for the position are expected
