Software Engineer - Richardson, TX

This position requires an Active Secret or TS/SCI clearance

Description:

Actalent Engineering is hiring software engineers to work daily with multiple software engineering team members to develop, maintain, test, and integrate software in development, integration, and target environments for missile warning satellite systems.

Major functions:

• Design, implement, and integrate software with languages such as C++, Java, Python
• Engineer systems using DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, and Podman in a Linux environment
• Evaluate change requests from stakeholders
• Investigate and resolve defects
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship
• B.S. Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
  • Or: Master’s Degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • Or: Associate's Degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
• A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
• Good working knowledge of the Linux operating system (e.g., Red Hat) including scripting (e.g., bash) and system administration
• Ability to write well designed, testable, efficient code
• Ability to ensure designs are in compliance with specifications
• Ability to prepare and produce releases of software components
• Experience with one or more DevOps tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, Ansible, Podman
• Programming experience with Python.
• Familiarity with databases (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL)

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Active Secret or Top Secret clearance
• Experience with databases (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL)
• Experience with one or more other languages such as C, C++, Java, JavaScript
