Job Title: ER Phlebotomist

Job Description

• This phlebotomist will support the ER. Our staff use electronic handheld devices called TC51s to receive notifications for tasks. If the person is in the ER, the flow board notifies them. The staff member can then scan the patient’s arm band with the TC51 device, which prints the labels for them.

Responsibilities include:

• Performing at an advanced level in the collection and proper handling of venous and capillary specimens as appropriate
• Registration of patients, lab contracts, and specimens, ensuring that all registration data is accurate and complete
• Preparing, checking for accuracy, and implementing charting of laboratory, pathology, and imaging reports as needed
