Job Title: Design Engineer

Job Description

- The Systems Design Engineer will work under the direction of the Lead Project Engineer and Project Manager and is responsible for developing conveyor system layouts

- The Systems Design Engineer will develop and maintain a working knowledge of customer standards as well as equipment and application requirements and will apply these in the course of their design work and mechanical installation drawings and details

- Apply engineering theory and principles to problems of industrial layout and design

- Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, or drawings

- Research / review customer specifications to understand requirements and ensure compliance

- Collaborate with project team members including design engineers, project engineers and project managers and customers to ensure project requirements are met

- Work with Project Engineer to establish an engineering design plan and schedule for the project

Hard Skills

• Proficient in AutoCAD and/or Inventor CAD software
• Develop conveyor system layouts and mechanical installation drawings
• Minimum 3 years' experience in mechanical conveyor / installation design (conveyor or material handling experience is a must)
• Associates Degree or higher in Computer Drafting and Design or similar technical program

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site and some days remote.

Work Environment

office environment with team sitting in 2 different offices

8-5 with some OT when required
