Job Description

Support cross-functional teams with analysis, coordination of trials, and implementation of both short-term and long-term solutions. Perform fitment trials to meet internal targets, adhere to the pre-series build/delivery schedule for launch and life cycle management, and work self-guided in a team environment with minimal guidance or motivation needed.


Responsibilities

  • Collect and monitor quality data daily to determine the need for countermeasures.
  • Perform manual measurements for specific problem analysis.
  • Cross-reference measurement data with technical drawings and other specifications.
  • Review part and assembly concepts to verify design intent.
  • Analyze in-house (body, paint, and assembly shop), supplier (sheet metal and plastic parts), and logistical processes to determine root causes for dimensional deviations.
  • Design and develop check gauges for analysis.
  • Support the design of check and assembly gauges for series production use.
  • Analyze work processes and evaluate improvement measures for manufacturing quality, ergonomics, and operating safety.
  • Optimize process arrangements to ensure built-in quality can be achieved by the production team members.
  • Support the assembly line by monitoring the build process and training team members for specific quality-related problems.
  • Cross-reference standardized work with assembly process design specifications.
  • Support the special car team.
  • Try new parts on the assembly line during the sampling process and evaluate any negative impact on the assembly process ('tryout').
  • Support coordination activities for Aeko/AWE implementation.
  • Ensure pre-series and series build processes by defining and implementing short-term countermeasures for appearance quality or manufacturability problems.
  • Analyze product launches by supporting prototype/pre-series build.
  • Monitor new product launches and evaluate risk for future quality or manufacturing issues during the pre-series phase.
  • Participate in root cause analysis concerning failures of new designs in whole car groups and interrelated systems.

Qualifications

  • Experience in assembly and automotive repair.
  • Automotive industry experience.
  • Root cause analysis skills.
  • Experience identifying and implementing effective countermeasures.
  • Experience in an automotive dealership is a plus.
