Job Description

We're looking for a talented Phlebotomist to join our team! If you're passionate about patient interaction, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and want to be part of a supportive clinical team, this is your opportunity to make a daily impact.

Responsibilities

  • Perform blood draws, label specimens, and centrifuge specimens as required.
  • Record maintenance data and decontaminate equipment as necessary.
  • Update patient information and ensure specimens are collected and stored according to established procedures.
  • Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
  • Demonstrate proper technique using straight and butterfly needles.
  • Understand and follow all physicians' orders accurately.
  • Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and label centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
  • Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts for accuracy.
  • Package specimens for transport and store them according to required temperatures.
  • Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual department trainings.
  • Answer telephone calls and provide laboratory results to inquiries.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of phlebotomy experience
  • Experience with ages pediatric to geriatric
  • High School Diploma or GED.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Austin, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.80/hr.
