Job Description

We are seeking skilled Offline CNC Programmers to create reliable programs for machinists and operators, enabling efficient production in our chamber machine shop. Your expertise will contribute to the success of exciting space missions.

Responsibilities

  • Create reliable programs in Mastercam and conduct prove outs of runs for the machine shop team.
  • Generate and maintain programs and setup sheets in a high mix/low volume environment.
  • Define and adjust speed and feed parameters for maximum tool life.
  • Suggest drawing changes to improve manufacturability and CNC program strategy.
  • Design and machine fixture tooling as needed.
  • Meet productivity and production goals.
  • Maintain product flow and alert management of any production impediments.
  • Provide feedback and ideas for process improvements.

Essential Skills

  • 5-20 years of experience in CNC programming and operating, especially with 5-axis machines.
  • Proficient in Mastercam programming.
  • Experience as a Machinist for 5-10 years prior to programming.
  • Experience with Inconel, stainless steel, and other metals and alloys.
  • Understanding of robotic kinematics, singularities, and multi-axis motion planning.
  • Attention to detail and tolerance for repetitive tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience in a custom job shop creating complex parts.
  • Experience with large format operations and composite manufacturing.
  • Coding capability in Python, macros, Visual Basic, file parsing/editing, and Excel scripts.
  • Experience with Siemens CNC 840D SL or Sinumerik ONE controllers and drives.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs unassisted and perform physical tasks such as standing, climbing, and bending.
  • Availability for overtime and weekend hours.

Work Environment

Work in a facility with both climate and non-climate controlled environments. Day shifts are available, with 48-50 hours per week, and optional Saturday work encouraged. 1st Shift operates Monday-Thursday from 6 AM to 4:30 PM and Friday from 6 AM to 2:30 PM. 2nd Shift operates Monday-Thursday from 4 PM to 2:30 AM and Friday from 2 PM to 10 PM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bertram, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
