Controls Engineer

We are hiring for multiple Controls Engineers on a direct-hire basis. This position is open to all levels of experience. Relocation is offered for non-local candidates.

Job Description

Support design, development, testing, and commissioning for controls systems integration projects all over the US. You will download PLC code, test it, work through customer tests, troubleshoot, and support the project on standby after startup.

Responsibilities include:

• Programming PLCs for UPS or Amazon parcel/post sortation and handling equipment
• Programming HMIs as necessary
• Upgrading and retrofitting existing hardware and software
• Troubleshooting PLC programs and suggesting solutions to field issues
• Investigating system issues and recommending solutions.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field, must have bachelors degree
• Material Handling experience required
• 3+ or more years of experience designing controls systems, commissioning and troubleshooting PLC industrial control systems
• Ability to think quickly and communicate with customers on site if there are any issues
• Proface HMI programming a plus

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Louisville, Kentucky or Dallas, TX.

Work Environment

This position will be onsite in Louisville or Dallas when not traveling. Controls Engineers travel 80-100 days out of the year. Relocation assistance available. Travel tends to be heavier in the summer and fall, rotating in a 10-day on and 4-day off schedule. Travel tapers off after Thanksgiving and picks back up in late spring. This is mainly a day shift position but requires some off-shift work to avoid impacting production in the facilities.
