The Civil Engineer will lead and support the production of construction drawings for single-family residential developments. This role includes hands-on design work using AutoCAD Civil 3D, coordination with internal teams, and oversight of design deliverables to ensure quality and permit readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare construction drawings for single-family residential developments
- Lead and support design staff for paving, grading, storm drainage, detention, water, and wastewater systems
- Develop and refine 3D surfaces using survey data and design criteria
- Create surfaces from alignments and profiles to support accurate design
- Coordinate with the Project Manager to meet project schedules and deliverables
- Maintain organized, consistent design files to support collaboration and QA/QC standards
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of civil engineering design experience
- Experience with private single-family residential development projects in the DFW area
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D for construction plan production
- Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within one year of hire
- Experience coordinating with internal design teams and municipal staff during plan review and permitting
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
Technical Skills
- AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Site grading and drainage design
- Stormwater and detention design
- Water and wastewater utility design
- Surface modeling from survey, alignments, and profiles
- Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
This is a Contract position based out of Dallas, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
