Do you want to be part of innovative research, and work on complex scientific solutions? Do you want to address the sustainability challenges in Packaging and Specialty Plastics?
We are looking for you, a talented dynamic PhD candidate to join the Industrial Innovation Campus (I2C) for 6 months or 9 months. Internships can start in Fall or Winter of 2023, as well as Spring or Summer of 2024.
What Can you Expect:
Daily opportunities to develop your research, development and interpersonal skills while being responsible for one of our challenging technical projects. This experience will help you to strengthen your creativity, problem solving and technical skills while increasing your understanding of manufacturing and logistics. You will have the chance to network with Dow (leaders, other functions) and to work on customer-related projects.
Our projects cover different applications ranging from durable to flexible, and from hygiene to industrial and food packaging. The projects will span across polymers and include both modelling and experiments.
The I2C program will cover a period of 6-9 months. They will involve several weeks of intensive training programs and a dedicated local coach in a stimulating R&D environment.
What Do We Expect:
You are a student currently working towards PhD degree in polymer science, chemical engineering, mechanical or packaging, and you are able to do a 6 months or 9 months internship
You have an analytical and problem-solving mindset that fosters innovation and can solve complex issues through critical thinking
You can work independently and a passion for research with eagerness to learn and grow
You have demonstrated strong communication and teamwork skills.

Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a PhD program in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, or other related disciplines.
- A minimum GPA of 2.700 (on a scale of 4.000) is required.
- Reliable attendance is an expectation of every Dow employee, therefore reliable transportation is required.
