Hybrid Schedule

I. Job Summary Support WM Renewable Energy with front-end development of projects which capture methane and carbon dioxide from biogas processing facilities for utilization or storage. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for advancing projects from FEL-0 to FEL-3 stages for final investment decisions.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Manage phase/gate development process for new renewable natural gas and carbon dioxide capture projects
    • Support high-level portfolio reviews of assets and opportunities for prioritization/selection for further development
    • Manage completion of feasibility and project planning phases which include major permitting assessments and development of preliminary designs, schedules and cost estimates
    • Manage completion of project definition phase including refinement of design, schedule, and cost estimates for final investment decisions
    • Support some aspects of execution-phase activities including completion of utility-side infrastructure upgrades
  • Responsible for interfacing with permitting specialists and engineers to evaluate process and timeline for major permits (air permit, zoning, land use approvals, etc.)
  • Responsible for interfacing with site personnel and engineers to develop site plans and utility interconnection plans (biogas, natural gas, electricity, fresh water, process water, sewage, etc)
  • Responsible for engaging and managing engineering firms to complete drawing packages for new processing facilities
  • Responsible for managing contractors, utilities, and internal specialists to complete deliverables in timely manner and within budget
  • Responsible for coordinating with project management team, estimators, and schedulers to generate cost estimates and project schedules
  • Must be detail-oriented and efficient with communication
  • Must complete special assignments/tasks as requested and required by WMRE senior leadership

IV. Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

A. Education and Experience

Education: Education: Bachelor's Degree (accredited) or in lieu of degree; High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four years of relevant work experience required.

Preferred: Masters Degree in engineering (civil, environmental, mechanical, or chemical).

Experience: 7 years relevant experience (in addition to education requirement). Relevant experience may include experience with project development, project management, project engineering, carbon dioxide capture or storage, biogas processing, or landfill operations.
B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements

None required.

C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

Proficiency with computers and relevant software packages.

D. Travel

Travel expectations approximately 10%.
