Medical Assistant
Position Summary
We are seeking a professional, detail oriented Medical Assistant to support daily front office clinic operations. While this is primarily a front office role, the MA may be asked to assist in the back office. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and experienced in managing administrative and patient facing responsibilities in a medical setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer incoming patient calls in a professional and courteous manner.
- Perform insurance verification for all scheduled patients.
- Complete prior authorizations accurately and in a timely manner.
- Manage patient charts, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
- Handle patient check in and check out processes, including updating demographic and insurance information.
- Support clinic flow by coordinating with clinical staff when needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient front desk environment.
- Occasionally assist in the back office as needed
Required Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (MA) required.
- Verified copy of high school diploma or GED required.
- Active BLS/CPR certification.
- Prior experience with insurance verification.
- Must be comfortable working in a colon and rectal specialty environment.
- Strong, professional communication skills.
- Computer savvy with the ability to learn systems quickly.
- Experience with Athena EMR
- Able to take direction, accept feedback, and work collaboratively with the clinical team.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Braunfels, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
