As a Logistics Packaging Engineer at Daikin you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and optimizing packaging solutions for HVAC equipment and accessories. You will collaborate with various departments, including Design Engineering, Procurement, Production Engineering, and Assembly Operations, on packaging and labeling projects.
In this role, you will focus on improving packaging to benefit both Logistics Operations and our customers. You will champion the company's quality standards and become an expert in packaging requirements for warehousing and distribution, as well as addressing concerns from customers and distributors.
Beyond packaging-specific tasks, you will assist the Logistics Engineering team with data analysis and continuous improvement projects, which may involve optimizing warehouse layouts, processes, technologies, and labor management.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assess the impact of product and packaging changes on Logistics and customers.
- Collaborate with the Design Engineering team throughout the packaging development process.
- Develop and refine internal packaging test standards and procedures to accurately simulate distribution environments.
- Support trials, testing, and refinement of packaging designs.
- Analyze packaging performance and identify opportunities to reduce packaging and Logistics costs, improve product quality, and increase sustainability.
- Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with 3D CAD software, mechanical drafting, or packaging-specific drawing/modeling software (e.g., ArtiosCAD).
- Ability to quickly understand 3D geometrical problems.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with peers and co-workers.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Eagerness to learn new technologies and work with new tools.
- Highly organized and self-motivated.
- Prior experience, coursework, or certification in packaging.
- Experience with TOPS MaxLoad for design.
- Experience with Pallet Design Software (PDS).
- Knowledge of Distribution practices and Warehouse Management software.
- Experience or coursework in data analysis and statistics.
- Knowledge of SSMS, SQL, Python, or other coding languages.
