The Assembly Supervisor is responsible for managing the assembly group; including safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and performance management. Responsible for making recommendations and supporting continuous improvement, 5S, and Lean manufacturing concepts, while actively encouraging associate involvement. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals. Is results and compliance-oriented and applies strong work ethics and integrity. Provides direction to employees, orients, trains, assigns, and performance management.

Position Responsibilities may include:
- Train, instruct, and supervise employees using established production methods to produce a quality product in a safe and timely manner to meet production demands
- Provide work assignments, procure parts, and communicate production demands to employees as well as perform quality and safety audits and generate maintenance requests
- Maintain safe working environment
- Meet and or exceed company metrics including safety, quality, cost, and delivery
- Document and complete production reports, scrap tickets, accident reports, and discipline notices while promoting and enforcing company policies, safety rules, and work instructions
- Compare actual performance with planned performance and takes corrective action if needed to ensure that objectives are achieved
- Utilize accurate measurement tools to track area key indices, identify unfavorable trends, and take corrective action
- Meet key performance indicators such as Quality, Safety, Productivity, Scrap Rates, Labor Efficiencies, On-time Delivery, Machine Down Time, and Inventory Levels to ensure operations are running in an efficient matter
- Maintain high employee morale through good employee-management relations, team building, and thorough knowledge of policies where applicable
- Recognize and inform higher supervision of hourly employees' capabilities
- Proactively use Lean tools to improve operating efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality and safety results
- Complete required systems work: Mapics, Kronos, Zone, etc.
- Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs
- Provides direction
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals
- Good working knowledge of manufacturing assembly operations, safety protocols, and best practices
- Working knowledge of Lean, 5S, Six Sigma practices
- Knowledge of Production Daikin System and Flexible Manufacturing System (in-house training)
- Effective leadership skills; able to envision, develop, direct, manage, delegate responsibility and authority, and motivate employees
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Effective verbal and written communication skills including interpersonal skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Effective problem-solving skills in a fast past manufacturing environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to promote an environmentally healthy and safe work environment
- Ability to apply good judgment, strong work ethics, and integrity on the job
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferred
- 2+ years of experience in a leadership role
- High school diploma or GED
- College degree preferred, or equivalent work experience
- PDS/FMS Certification - obtained through in-house training program
