• Formulate, direct and coordinate marketing activities and policies to promote products and services, working
with advertising and promotion managers.
• Identify, develop, or evaluate marketing and product strategy, based on knowledge of establishment
objectives, market characteristics, and cost and markup factors.
• Direct the hiring, training, or performance evaluations of marketing or sales staff and oversee their daily
activities.
• Evaluate the financial aspects of product development, such as budgets, expenditures, research and
development appropriations, or return-on-investment and profit-loss projections.
• Develop pricing strategies, balancing firm objectives and customer satisfaction.
• Compile lists describing product or service offerings.
• Initiate market research studies or analyze their findings.
• Use sales forecasting or strategic planning to ensure the sale and profitability of products, lines, or services,
analyzing business developments and monitoring market trends.
• Coordinate or participate in promotional activities or trade shows, working with developers, advertisers, or
production managers, to market products or services.
• Consult with buying personnel to gain advice regarding the types of products or services expected to be in
demand.
• Develop integrated marketing plans that engage with customers through various methods including collateral,
events, loyalty marketing, email marketing, and online marketing venues.
• Create materials and roll out for new product introductions.
• Work in conjunction with Sales and Product Development to define key selling propositions for various
products
• Develop and execute all marketing materials: advertising, collaterals, website, email blasts, brochures --
including content, creation, and design.
• Manage staff of product managers, analysts, and application engineers.
• Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs.
Nature & Scope • Develops and implement strategic plans and objectives for the department/sub-function in an effective and
innovative fashion
• Understands the business and can put together comprehensive department solutions
• Works with other leaders to establish strategic plans and works towards achieving them
• Provides leadership and direction to managers in their respective divisions/department
• Sees department staffing needs (e.g. interviewing, hiring, new hire and ongoing training, annual evaluations,
etc.)
• Participates in budget development and monitoring of expenses
• Level of signing authority established by company policy/guidelines
Knowledge & Skills • Ability to work creatively in a problem-solving environment and ability to adapt to changing priorities and
react with an appropriate sense of urgency.
• Provides direction to other Product Managers and cross functional professionals in the organization.

• 15+ years in experience in a large manufacturing company
• 10+ years of experience in a leadership role
Education/Certification • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Engineering or a related field; MBA preferred
