The IOT Solutions Manager (Residential Thermostats and Controls Manager) is responsible for interfacing with the Daikin sales team, Daikin engineering team, Daikin distributors and dealers, and other internal teams to meet order, product development, training and support, revenue, and margin goals for Daikin controls business. The IOT Solutions Manager is responsible for the overall success for Daikin controls, mobile apps, Daikin dealer service and delivers measurable business results through product lifecycle solutions that meet both market needs and organizational goals. This position is responsible for the overall offering roadmap, requirements development, product development and commercialization strategies.
  • Strategic leadership of Daikin's Cloud Solutions Business including; Pricing, Positioning, Promotion
  • Responsible for P&L of the Daikin Cloud Solutions Business and achievement of financial goals
  • Responsible for the contents of the Daikin Cloud Solutions roadmap using a collaborative approach with the Controls team, Sales and Marketing to ensure we have a differentiated solution in North America
  • Prioritize roadmap features based on business and customer impact against resource requirements to deliver
  • Perform periodic external competitive analysis of existing solutions and new entrants to inform our strategy
  • Act as product evangelist to build awareness, and understanding of Solutions business with internal stakeholders, distribution partners, and our contractor network
  • Responsible to create buy-in of the Daikin One Cloud Services Solutions business across Daikin Sales organization and Distribution network
  • Responsible for strategic product planning, roadmap definition, commercialization development, product promotion, training and support throughout the product life cycle.
  • Representation as product line owner on multi-functional program teams to ensure compliance with quality systems and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure customer focus in product line development plans and value propositions by establishing relationships with customers as required and ensuring the voice of the customer" is reflected in work efforts.
  • Defining and leading appropriate market segmentation and positioning strategies for the assigned product lines.
  • Monitor, and be accountable for, key success metrics, including but not limit to, such as revenue, margins, customer satisfaction, training, literature development and proper market adoption.
  • Conduct cost and margin analysis and determines product pricing and profitability. Recommend list pricing and collaborate with cross function team to set pricing.

Knowledge & Skills
• 8+ years proven success experience in leading residential product management or related field
• Demonstrated experience in bringing HVAC products to market as a product owner
• Demonstrated ability to translate customer needs into product requirements
• Residential HVAC Product Management/Marketing expertise, including: market trends/analysis, NPI process, product roadmap and requirements development, product life-cycle management, support, training
• Strong analytical and process skills
• Customer centric. Ability to interact put customer's needs and customer's experience at the fore forefront of all activities
• Excellent oral and written communications and presentation skills
• Team oriented - ability to motivate and work well within a matrix, diverse, global and cross-functional environment
• Willingness to travel 10-30%

• Demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate internally and with customers.
• Experience in preparing material and communicating with company and customers executive levels

Experience
• 8+ years experience in residential HVAC product management, marketing, commercial marketing or related field
• Experience with P&L ownership is a plus

Education/Certification
• Bachelor degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field
