Job Description

The Multi-Domain Solutions (MDS) division at Leidos is seeking a Finance Lead to oversee all financial operations and analysis. Acting as the primary financial partner to site leadership, this role ensures alignment with corporate finance strategies while supporting decision-making, driving operational efficiency, and ensuring financial compliance (e.g. , GAAP/IFRS). The Finance Lead plays a critical, hands-on role in managing site-level budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and reporting.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary finance contact for the site's leadership team, providing financial insights and strategic support.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for site-specific operations.
  • Monitor and manage cost structures including labor, materials, overhead, and capital expenditures.
  • Prepare and present regular financial reports, KPIs, and performance dashboards to both site and corporate leadership.
  • Ensure adherence to internal financial controls, accounting standards, and company policies.
  • Partner with operations, supply chain, and other key stakeholders to drive productivity, efficiency, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Support site-level audits, inventory counts, and risk management efforts.
  • Identify and implement process improvements in financial operations and reporting functions.
Basic Qualifications
  • TS/SCI w/ Poly Clearance is required
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field and 4-8 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with 2-6 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting the financial aspects of programs, including budgeting, scheduling, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Working knowledge of financial analysis and planning techniques, including variance analysis, cost control, and predictive forecasting.
  • Experience preparing and presenting financial forecasts, reports, and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in tools and methods for Budgeting, Financial Analysis, and Data Analysis.
  • Familiarity with multiple contract types and basic principles of Contract Management.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interface with cross-functional teams, including program managers and external customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced understanding of program financial management processes, including general ledger oversight and cash flow monitoring.
  • Experience supporting both new business proposals and on-contract proposals.
  • Knowledge of financial compliance requirements and support of program audits.
  • Proficiency with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) tools and concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with Cost Controls and identifying risks and opportunities relative to a program's financial baseline.
  • Strong skills in Business Analysis and the ability to align financial strategies with program objectives.
  • Proven ability to coach and review the work of junior professionals.
  • Prior experience in a government contracting or defense/aerospace environment (if applicable).
  • Familiarity with enterprise financial systems and reporting tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Hyperion).

Pay Range:
Pay Range $72,150.00 - $130,425.00
