Job Title: Marine Electrician

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Marine Electrician with a background in the Navy, specifically from A or E division. The role involves installing, operating, maintaining, repairing, and modifying equipment. The position requires performing maintenance and technical support on shipboard systems, integrated systems, and related equipment/software at various locations.

Work Environment

The work will be conducted at Naval Station Norfolk, where you will be part of a dedicated team working with state-of-the-art technologies. The role requires adherence to safety protocols and quality standards in a dynamic and fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

  • Install, operate, maintain, repair, and modify equipment.
  • Perform maintenance and technical support on shipboard systems, integrated systems, and related equipment/software.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions to resolve issues promptly.
  • Interface with customers and manage subcontractors.
  • Provide work direction to others.
  • Develop and utilize technical documents, including controlled work packages, formal work processes and procedures, and test documents.
  • Schedule, report, and brief customers and senior management.
  • Perform duties outside of specialty to complete assignments.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in marine, ship repair, valves, electrical, hydraulics, and diesel systems.
  • High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years of related experience.
  • Experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing structural and mechanical systems and associated equipment.
  • Proficiency in using various power tools and measurement devices.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow blueprints, technical drawings, and technical manuals.
  • Knowledge of safety and quality control steps and procedures.
  • Capability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance and base access credentials.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Newport News, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
