A day in the role…

• Reviewing the charges to make sure the notes have been signed, the modifiers are in the right order, is the billing area correct, if referring physician is listed
• Ensure encounter form are charged and properly coded from the day before and sending them out to the medical group to be billed
• Medical group will send denied claims back to coder in order to research the reason and attempt to get approval.
• Researching denied claims to understand the reason and re-process with denials, explain why is it being denied and figure out how to get it approved
• Random audits on charts for providers - provide feedback on how they can improve or if they are doing well

Core Experience:

• Dermatology Coding Experience
• 1-2 years of coding experience - prefer CPC
• Knowledge of insurance companies
