Job Title: Registered Nurse


Job Description

As a Registered Nurse, you will assist healthcare providers in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. Your role will involve conducting educational sessions on diabetes management and coordinating patient care, including follow-up testing, scheduling, physician orders, and hospital admissions.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct educational sessions on diabetes management and equipment use.
  • Coordinate patient care, including scheduling and follow-up testing or procedures.
  • Orient new clinical staff and sign off on clinical competencies.
  • Perform patient intake and assist with clinical inventory, including sterilization devices.
  • Participate in research through data collection and idea development.
  • Assist providers and nursing staff in the clinic.
  • Collect prior authorization for prescriptions.
  • Monitor task queues and maintain clinical competency.
  • Review patient lab results and imaging studies, discuss abnormal findings with physicians, and follow up with patients regarding prescribed treatments.
  • Promote the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the medical group and department by complying with policies and procedures.
  • Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating professional and caring attitudes towards coworkers, patients, and guests.
  • Attend work as assigned and rotate to other locations as needed.
  • Complete miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Registered Nurse license
  • Patient care and care management
  • Ambulatory and outpatient care experience
  • Endocrinology experience
  • BLS certification
  • Proficiency in medical records and electronic health records
  • Epic and triage experience
  • Managed care expertise

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Practical Nurse License
  • Ambulatory and Diabetes/Endocrinology experience preferred
  • BLS certification

Work Environment

The position is based in an outpatient office with a Monday through Friday schedule from 8 AM to 5 PM, including a one-hour lunch break. No weekends or holidays are required, with minimal on-call duties. The facility is a learning environment, offering opportunities for permanent placement and professional growth.
