Job Description: Remote Supply Chain Planner
The Supply Chain Planner plays a crucial role in coordinating and expediting the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to the production schedule. This role involves reviewing and distributing production work, managing shipment schedules, and compiling reports on inventory levels and costs.
Responsibilities
- Examine documents, materials, and products to monitor work processes and assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications.
- Review production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables to determine personnel and materials requirements and priorities.
- Record production data, including volume produced, consumption of raw materials, and quality control measures.
- Requisition and maintain inventories of materials and supplies necessary to meet production demands.
- Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, or other interruptions.
- Distribute production schedules and work orders to departments.
- Maintain and track issues and opportunities related to OKRs and KPIs.
- Conduct production meetings with stakeholders to understand and track changes to plans and execution.
- Create and publish production planning reports.
- Complete comprehensive analytics to drive security of supply.
- Perform manual data entry as needed to track inventory status reporting.
- Utilize a deep understanding of manufacturing best practices to work effectively with suppliers and report on inventory matters including WIP, material procurement, cycles, quality, testing, on-time delivery, setting, and measuring KPIs.
- Participate and support ad hoc projects.
Essential Skills
- Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze costs related to manufacturing, labor, and materials.
- Experience in forecasting and inventory management.
- Ability to accurately document and record customer/client information.
- Basic mentoring skills to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to shipping and production.
- Previous experience with computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain management.
- Programming experience or intermediate skills in Excel.
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree is preferred.
- BS/BA in Supply Chain, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Operations, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Previous Data Center exposure/experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work in ambiguous situations and across organizational boundaries.
- Willingness to adapt quickly to shifting business priorities.
