Job Description
Our client's Space Systems division is seeking an Electromechanical Technician in Dulles, VA. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual capable of performing a wide range of electronics technician tasks, primarily involving the integration and testing of electronics systems. This role involves hands-on tasks related to the assembly, integration, and testing of electronic circuit boards, systems, and associated cabling/harnessing. The technician will work both independently and in small teams on projects that may include design, prototyping, fabrication, modification, and evaluation of components, circuitry, boards, and systems.
Responsibilities
- Solder aerospace circuit cards.
- Design, build, and test cables/harnesses.
- Integrate and test electronics boards and boxes.
- Serve as the electronics lab custodian.
- Participate in tests and experiments.
Essential Skills
- Experience in assembling and testing electronics systems.
- Proficient in soldering down to the circuit card level.
- Familiarity with using lab instruments and equipment, including power supply configuration, oscilloscope operation, and data capture.
- Experience with schematic capture.
- Ability to perform work using a microscope for extended periods.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience with layout tools such as Altium or Pads.
- Experience with space electronics.
- IPC-JSTD-001: Soldering certification.
Work Environment
The work environment includes working in a lab setting with advanced electronic equipment and technologies. The role requires precision and attention to detail, often necessitating work under a microscope. The technician will engage in both independent tasks and collaborative projects with small teams, ensuring a dynamic and engaging work atmosphere.
