Job Description
The project involves roof renovations for the AOC at the Dirksen Building, focusing on historic preservation. The $10 million project includes replacing Spanish tiles and preserving the building's history. As a Project Superintendent, you will play a crucial role in the construction project team.
• Ensures company representation at the project site daily by setting expectations and maintaining commitments.
• Review conceptual, schematic, and design development documents for constructability and site logistics.
• Establish project site expectations for safety, quality, and general conduct.
• Plan and coordinate site logistics, including traffic patterns and equipment locations.
• Partner with the Project Manager, client, and trade contractors to develop a work plan.
• Coordinate project team's preparation for upcoming work and ensure timely completion according to the project schedule.
• Oversee technical interpretation of construction documents and recommend construction methods as required.
• Assure consistency with contractual specifications and requirements.
• Discuss quality expectations with trade foremen prior to installation.
• Arrange pre-installation coordination meetings for overlapping work by multiple trade contractors.
• Coordinate timely permitting and required inspections.
• Review critical submittals for dimensional control and constructability.
• Maintain rolling punch list defining final quality expectations.
• Verify and authorize trade contractor timesheets for extra work performed on a time and material basis.
• Authorize purchase requisitions for material, equipment, and labor as required.
• Complete thorough and accurate daily reports of progress, concerns, and safety inspections.
• Continuously assess the project's status against goals and revise construction strategy as required.
• Develop mutually acceptable solutions for conflicts and disputes.
• Create a project-specific safety program and provide safety orientation for all site entrants.
• Promptly report and investigate safety-related incidents and discipline repeat offenders.
Hard Skills
- Experience with projects of $10 million or more
- Understanding of roof/exterior construction

Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Washington, DC
Work Environment
The majority of work is completed outside at the construction site and in an office trailer. Travel to and from the construction site is required. Work hours are overnight at Dirksen from 7 PM to 4 AM.
