Description:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field.   Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.

As a DSP Software Developer on the team you will analyze, design, develop and test DSP algorithms that are implemented in hardware and software for Navy Submarine based systems.

Your Role:

-Support an Agile team of 4-6 Software Engineers who are developing C/C++ (some Java) in a Linux environment for the Navy

-Signal processing software development in C and C++

-Signal processing design in MATLAB

-Algorithm development in C and C++

-Analyze DSP customer requirements to develop software requirements

-Write and Execute verification test procedures

-Fixed point model conversion for hardware implementation

-Software/hardware partitioning and trades

-Software/hardware implementation

-Work onsite with the development team at Lockheed Martin Integration facility in Manassas Virginia coordinating with the ARCI/SWFTS community

Required Skills:

5+ years SW development in C++ on Linux environment

1+ years designing DSP in MATLAB and implementing in C/C++ software algorithms (exceptional candidates will have 3+ years)

1+ years  working knowledge of FIR filters, sample rate changes, FFT/Power Spectral Density (PSD)

1+ years Large System Integration (exceptional candidates will have 3+ years)  

1+ years of experience developing code using an Agile Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) (exceptional candidates will have 3+ years)  

-Experience using Jira/Bitbucket/Jenkins tools

-Shows initiative on assignments, and professionally executes projects with very little direction, or can provide direction and leadership to technical teams

-Exercises independent judgment and sometimes defines new procedures and practices to improve team performance

-Seasoned, experienced professional with proficient understanding of software engineering concepts, principles, and theories

Preferred Experience:

-Exceptional candidates have work experience in algorithm development for Navy Sonar applications

-Candidates must have knowledge of MATLAB for DSP using the related tool boxes. Experience with Sonar Signal Processing, DSP for mitigating/processing effects, Monte Carlo analysis or Phased Array/Beam Forming is a plus.

-Experience with Large System Integration in a Navy DOD environment

-ARCI or SWFTS submarine software development

-Agile certifications or equivalent experience as Scrum Master or Product Owner

-Experience with Static Code Analysis mitigation

-Digital Signal Processing certification

-Requirements management 

-Strong understanding of common data structures and algorithms

-Experience with scripting languages such as Bash or Python

-Must be able to design FIR filters to implement Sample Rate Changes (Decimation, Interpolation, Resample Rates)

-Given an input rate must be able to calculate the proper resample ratio (Interpolation / Decimation) to achieve a desired output rate.

-Must know how to compute a Power Spectral Density (PSD) given either real or complex data as the input

-Must know how to calculate start/stop frequencies and bin spacing of the PSD
