Red Badge - Shipyard Labor $22/hr

The role requires the ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, written technical instructions, and manuals for working diagrams and pipe systems. The position involves planning work layouts, modifying, or repairing new and existing valves and piping systems. Responsibilities also include inspecting and testing installed piping and associated components, as well as having a working knowledge of trade mathematics and formulas to calculate flow rate and volume. Work will involve the installation and removal of temporary pipe services onboard surface ships, submarines, shops, dry docks, and piers.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical instructions for pipe systems.
• Plan and layout work for modifying or repairing valves and piping.
• Inspect and test installed piping, valves, hardware, and hangers.
• Calculate flow rate and volume using trade mathematics and formulas.
• Understand temporary ventilation requirements and trade standards.
• Install and remove temporary pipe services on ships, submarines, shops, dry docks, and piers.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical instructions.
• Knowledge of equipment and system installation and operation.
• Skill in planning work layout for pipe systems.
• Capability to inspect and test piping and related components.
• Understanding of trade mathematics and formulas for calculations.

• Experience in a shipyard environment or related field.
• Ability to obtain an interim Secret Clearance (Yellow Badge).

Work Environment

The work environment includes both outdoor and indoor settings within a shipyard, encompassing work on ships, in shops, and at dry docks and piers.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
