Description:
Patient Access Representative is the first point of contact of a patient in the clinic facility. Among the duties include the checking-in and out of a patient, gathering a patient's information for the Doctors and Nurses to use, and processes insurance billing and verifications. Collecting of Co-pay and provide strong in person customer service while handling inbound patient phone calls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits prior to appointments, ensuring all necessary information is accurate and up-to-date.
- Obtain prior authorizations for procedures and treatments as required by insurance companies, ensuring timely approval to avoid delays in patient care.
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve any issues related to coverage, claims, and authorizations.
- Accurately document all insurance verification and prior authorization activities in the patient’s electronic medical record (EMR) or electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Inform patients about their insurance coverage, co-pays, and any out-of-pocket expenses they may incur. Provide guidance on financial assistance programs if needed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Must have 1-2 years of Front office experience and answering multiphone lines
- Insurance verification and prior authorization experience
- Systems: EMR or EHR systems experience
Schedule: Monday- Friday, 8am- 5pm
