Technical PM 3

Location: Redmond, WA - onsite starting at end of March at least in a hybrid capacity

Placement Type: 18 Month Contract - We will work to help find your next opportunity towards the end of contract

Top 3 Must Haves:

-4 years of experience as a Technical Program Manager (not technical product management)

-Hardware product/program experience (consumer electronics preferred, but not required)

-Ability to work with multiple vendors and ensure timelines and deliverables being met


Hardware focused TPM to support power supply projects/deliverables.

This is the power supply team - they support all devices. This person is going to manage a handful of projects, daily interfacing with power supply team, leading that group's deliverables, will also interface with extended team - other device programs/teams. There are 2 key vendors and suppliers - once per week evening calls with those suppliers ensuring they're going to meet their deadlines. This team leans on suppliers to do design work, and then this TPM will review specifications. Half the team is in Redmond, and then other half is vendors in Taiwan and China.

Top Skills:

  • 4-8 years of project management experience, Master's degree preferred, PMI Certification required.
  • Knowledge/background in software industry products/services/applications, with in-depth knowledge of Microsoft's products/services/applications preferred.
  • Must possess strong cross team/group/org collaboration skills; ability to foresee and analyze project risks, develop risk management plan and mitigate subsequent issues.
  • The ideal candidate will have high-powered analytical skills and the ability to understand concepts and situations that pass by many others.
  • Specialized knowledge as defined by project required.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, experience working with external vendors, strong project management skills, and demonstrated success in adult learning and training principles/skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.

Using PMO best practices and standards, partner with the product/program managers to facilitate a project management process to fit their needs, and oversee and execute on that process/plan. Create, maintain and control the project schedule and dashboard, facilitate meetings, and proactively identify risks to the project. Shepherd the Project Team through the Release process, being mindful of all requirements. Facilitate program communications, identify and implement continuous improvement practices, and provide regular status reports as required.
