Description:
We are currently seeking an Electronics Technician for the Customer Repair Department – to troubleshoot, repair and write analysis reports on customer drives and modules.
This role will be working with high voltages (460V, 575V, 1000V) and lots of aftermarket parts. They may be working with 20-30 year old drives where drawings are obsolete and they need to troubleshoot down to the component level.
This position will troubleshoot, repair, test and write technical reports on customer’s drives and modules. Documents and analyzes test data. Evaluates performance and the reliability of the customer’s drive and modules before returning back into service.
Job responsibilities will include documenting, analyzing the functionality and repair of the customer’s drives using electronic equipment such as Oscilloscopes, voltage meters and current meters. Also using the labview test to troubleshoot and repair the customer’s modules. Repair tech will be required to hook up drives to a test motor and verify that drive passes our standards before returning back to customer. Technician will spend 50% of the job doing mechanical assembly and 50% technical troubleshooting. Technician will also be working with high voltage (up to 690VAC and 1100VDC).

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Associate degree in a 2-year technical degree program such as electronics, electromechanical technology or they are going to school for Associate Degree
Ability to troubleshoot boards to a component level. -1+ years
Ability to use electronic tools: Oscilloscopes, Volt meters, Current meters
Must have some experience in Module repair ( soldering and De-soldering parts) through-hole and surface mount type of boards.
Working knowledge of small hand and power tools used in mechanical and electrical assembly.
Demonstrated ability to read electronic/electrical schematics and follow visual prints, and read work instructions in English.
Safety Knowledge and experience or wanting to work around HV
Some experience with testing electronic drives, safety training and awareness around electronic and mechanical systems a plus.
