Job Title: Lab Equipment Technician


Job Description

The Lab Equipment Technician will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, validations, verifications, and basic troubleshooting of laboratory equipment. The role involves routine maintenance and replacement of components as needed for a total of 170 assets, including pipettes, GC, Cad, balances, timers, and more.


Responsibilities

  • Regularly inspect and service laboratory equipment to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns, including cleaning, lubrication, and calibration checks.
  • Organize and prioritize tasks based on importance.
  • Diagnose malfunctions in lab equipment by analyzing error codes, symptoms, and technical specifications, then perform necessary repairs or component replacements.
  • Perform annual preventive maintenance and operational qualification activities on key lab equipment.
  • Accurately calibrate lab equipment to ensure precise measurements and data integrity according to established standards and procedures.
  • Provide technical assistance to lab personnel regarding equipment operation, troubleshooting basic issues, and proper usage.
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts and components needed for repairs, coordinating with vendors to order replacements when necessary.
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, calibration data, and equipment history.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, regulatory guidelines, and quality standards related to laboratory equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Ensure timely completion and compliance with cGMP and all other relevant training requirements.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in troubleshooting, calibration, validation, and verification.
  • Understanding of Agilent devices.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a lab environment performing validations, verifications, diagnostic testing, and troubleshooting of equipment.

Work Environment

The position involves working in both laboratory and office environments, requiring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
