Job Title: R&D Food Scientist
Job Description
Join our team as an R&D Food Scientist where you will perform lab procedures and testing for dairy slurry and powders, understand and conduct basic experimental design and statistical analysis, and create formulations for products containing dairy materials, enzymes, flavor chemicals, and other common food ingredients. You will be responsible for tasting and smelling food/beverage/flavor samples for new product development, quality control, and troubleshooting. Additionally, you will record project details, maintain batch sheets, prepare graphs and charts based on testing results, and write project closure reports. You will communicate proactively with your supervisor and team members about project progress and show initiative in starting new projects for future products, production optimization, and cost savings. You will also assist in leading the team alongside the Director and Manager of R&D and provide backup for QA in performing test samples as well as R&D in repeat sample preparation, documentation, and lab organizing.

Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Racine, Wisconsin.
Work Environment
The position operates on a 1st shift from 8:00am to 4:00pm under the guidance of the R&D Manager. The role includes developing new products, testing methods, process optimization, and cost savings, adhering to FDA, FSMA, and GFSI requirements defining food safety standards for the safe production of food in the plant and offices.
