Job Title: Field Service Technician

Job Description

This position involves a client-facing role where the technician will address customer needs related to installation, training, and ongoing support of both new and installed equipment. The role serves as the primary interface between the manufacturer and customer once a machine is shipped. When not traveling to customer sites, the Field Service Technician will test and check out new machines before they are shipped from the corporate headquarters.

Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems.
• Perform PLC troubleshooting and wiring tasks.
• Engage in client interactions to ensure satisfaction and address concerns.
• Travel domestically 75% of the time, with occasional international travel.
• Test and check out new machines prior to shipping.
• Provide training and ongoing support for new and installed equipment.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience with PLC troubleshooting and installation is highly preferred.
• Strong client interaction skills.
• Ability to handle packaging machines.
• Bilingual skills, particularly in Spanish is highly preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of field service technician/customer service experience.
• Active passport for international travel.

Work Environment

The work environment is clean, though employees are regularly exposed to moderate to high noise levels, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and unpleasant odors. Travel arrangements are organized based on distance, with reimbursement for travel under 3 hours, rental cars for 3-6 hours, flights for over 6 hours, and business class bookings for flights over 10 hours. There is potential for growth into supervisor or manager roles. Per diem rates are provided for travel, with $60/day for domestic travel and $100/day for international travel.
