Job Description
Primarily responsible for machine design and machine optimization. Understand thoroughly what is asked of the machine. Critically think about your machine because you own it and the individuals around you will be affected by the design. Participate in client discussions and meetings to learn their requirements, work with colleagues to find solutions, and create layout drawings for potential customers. Act as a technical resource for the team around the shop and translate complex designs into calculations. Support manufacturing by answering questions about intended designs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve manufacturing, design, and quality problems, ensuring continuous improvement of processes and standards.
Responsibilities
- Create mathematically verified concepts to resolve packaging challenges
- Evaluate and select components for products
- Evaluate material, stress/strain, vibration constraints that effect design and provide that information to teammates
- Redesign standard products or product line expansions, improving quality and productivity, while reducing costs
- Design new or specialized integrations/modifications in accordance with theoretically established specifications
- Provide technical resource support to Sales by creating layout drawings for potential customers
- Participate on cross-functional teams to address and resolve manufacturing, design, and quality problems
- Comply with all quality and safety regulations

Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Sturtevant, Wisconsin.
Work Environment
Predominantly an office job, but the ability to confirm the status of parts in progress in the shop is required. While in the shop, the employee may be exposed to fumes, heat, and airborne particles. Noise level is moderately loud. Safety equipment while in the shop includes welding safety equipment, safety glasses, steel toe work shoes, hearing protection, gloves, and protective clothing.
