Prerequisites
Education: Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum three (3) years training in electrical field beyond high school.
If a current IAM Tomahawk Mill employee an Electrical/Instrument Journeyperson with 4 years of experience at the Tomahawk Mill is required.
Work Experience: Four (4) years minimum of work experience in electrical power distribution, distributed control systems, PLC's and drivers, prefer paper industry experience.
Skills: Possess written & verbal communication skills & engineering knowledge.
Training: Knowledge of electrical operations. Ability to lead and motivate others.
Other: Familiar with concepts of employee empowerment. Must be committed to safe work procedures and activities.
Essential Functions.
The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to...
1. Upgrade existing electrical systems and improve process reliability by electrical improvements.
2. Maintains compliance with ISO Quality System responsibilities.
3 Work closely with Engineering to ensure capital projects are installed with Maintenance concerns included.
4. Supervise the activities of all personnel assigned to the Electrical Department.
5. Issue requisitions for repair parts & supplies necessary to perform Electrical Maintenance work, which are not furnished by Central Storeroom or Engineering.
6. Direct the administration of company policy & programs pertaining to the performance, training, safety & morale of all personnel under his supervision.
7. Cooperate in the establishment & continuance of a safety program to educate the workers in safe work methods & have a comprehensive knowledge of possible safety hazards in the mill.
8. Assist in preparing cost estimates for work orders & capital jobs & in preparation of the annual departmental operating & capital budgets.
9. Maintain accurate & up-to-date maintenance records & information on all machinery, equipment & buildings.
10. Coordinate activities with outside contractors working.
11. Cover Instrumentation Maintenance Engineer's responsibilities as required.
12. Weekend/after-hours call coverage on a rotating basis.
