• Uses computer assisted design/drafting equipment and software to develop designs • Work on multiple projects including handling customized product orders through completion • Maintain state of the art knowledge in appropriate product lines, and seek new product ideas that fit company objectives • Develop and adhere to schedules to meet product development objectives • Initiate change orders and deviations as required when purchased or fabricated parts do not meet specifications • Assists in the development of instructions, operator, parts manual and specifications and literature for assigned product lines • Supports Sales and Service on field problems with assigned products. • Visit dealers, customers and vendors as required to help with product problems, improvements and developments • Maintains a continuous improvement program to improve manufacturability, assembly, operations, product quality, feature enhancement, cost savings and overall quality • Provides production support • Analyzes engineering sketches, specifications, drawings, and related data to determine design factors • Sketches rough layouts and computes angles, weights, surface areas, dimensions, radii, clearances, tolerances, and leverages • Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer contract requirements, and related specifications • Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems • Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases • Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget • Prepares interim and completion project reports • Measures machine and parts during production to ensure compliance with design specifications as requested • Other duties as assigned by the team manager
