Candidates will be setting up, making tool changes, offsets and edits and also running Hardinge turning centers to machine very precise parts for military aircraft equipment. They use fanuc controls and other responsibilities include: • In addition to setting tools and making offsets, they must also be able to load a program and establish work holding positions and make minor program edits. • Edit individual tool feed rates to establish SFM (Surface Feet per Minute) and related chip loads. • Read, interpret and understand blueprint specifications to methods of manufacturing (MOM) per routing. • Identify when to replace dull tooling before catastrophic failure. • Basic understanding of hard gauging checks on granite table. • Completes any and all paperwork as required; Job Traveler, VISTA, etc. • Follow all clean up and housekeeping procedures. • Comply with all quality and safety regulations and procedures.
