In this mission we provide support services for information systems for Headquarters Air Force (HAF), Air Force District of Washington (AFDW), Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Joint Chiefs of Staff, and other Air Force activities within the AFNCR missions to include the Pentagon, Joint Base Andrews (JBA), Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB), and other locations, leased spaces, and alternate sites. The major support areas are: IT Operations and Maintenance; Plans, Projects, and Engineering. The senior leaders and national defense missions that are supported require that the AFNCR operations never fail, resulting in a fast-paced, challenging, but also rewarding environment. Desktop Support is responsible for providing support, repair and/or installation support of existing and new hardware, software, network configurations and new system initiatives for all sites within the 300-mile radius of the NCR. Duties may include but are not limited to providing support in the Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, assisting in the development and ensuring adherence to area-wide procedural/policy changes, and supporting continuity of operations (COOP) exercises and activations as needed. PRIMARY TASKS <ul><li>Provide leadership and mentorship to team members at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, overseeing the resolution of IT hardware and software issues within a Windows 11 environment. </li><li>Lead by example in delivering high-quality customer service, while actively training and developing subordinates to enhance their technical skills and ensure adherence to best practices.</li><li>Consistently uphold strict adherence to schedules, performance metrics, and standardized processes, while ensuring thorough and accurate ticket documentation. Demonstrate a commitment to operational excellence by meeting service-level agreements and optimizing workflow efficiency.</li><li>Leverage advanced diagnostic skills to troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware and software issues, ensuring seamless coordination between end-users and cross-functional work centers. Act as a liaison to facilitate effective communication and problem resolution, optimizing system performance and user satisfaction.</li><li>Independently manage larger, moderately complex projects and assignments, demonstrating strong problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking. Collaborate effectively with other technical staff, providing mentorship and support as needed to drive successful outcomes.</li><li>Participate in the evaluation of system configuration and software.</li><li>Coordinate with the Communication Focal Point Manager any outages or issues with equipment other than the typical desktop issues. </li><li>IT Service Management through Remedy and ServiceNow.</li><li>Experience with Remote Desktop, BEL Manage, and Bomgar.</li><li>Self-motivated and proactive, with a demonstrated ability to excel in fast-paced, dynamic environments.</li><li>Technically strong and able to make quick, sound decisions.</li></ul> BASIC QUALIFICATIONS <ul><li>High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of relevant experience.</li><li>Must have DoD-8140 IAT Advanced baseline certification (Security+ CE or higher). </li><li>Currently possess a DoD Secret Security Clearance or higher.</li><li>5+ years of advanced experience in Desktop Support. </li><li>Experience with diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing hardware and software issues within a Windows 11 environment. This includes in-depth knowledge of system configurations, security protocols, and optimizing performance across various devices.</li><li>Familiarity with the Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling customer base, the 794th Communications Squadron, the 844th Communications Group and the 11th Wing.</li><li>Must currently posess a current and active Secret Security Clearance.</li></ul> PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS: <ul><li>Military experience and comfortable working with Senior Military Leaders in a faced paced environment.</li><li>Associates degree in a related field.</li></ul>If you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
