This role requires technical expertise in at least one craft area such as Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, or Central Utility Plant Operations, and the ability to be multi-skilled in others to effectively complete daily and weekly assignments.Responsibilities<ul><li>Perform maintenance, monitoring, and repairs to the Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, Furniture, Fire Life Safety, and Control systems to keep the facility and building systems up to applicable standards.</li><li>Maintain responsibility for facility services, preventive maintenance, purchasing, inventory control, contracted maintenance, general maintenance, and technical proficiency.</li><li>Clean, inspect, calibrate, and change parts to maintain the HVAC systems and associated equipment at optimum performance levels.</li><li>Record readings and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper operation of equipment.</li><li>Comply with departmental policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials, and maintain a clean and safe workplace.</li><li>Perform periodic checks of tool and instrument inventory.</li><li>Monitor the quality and pricing of maintenance work performed by outside contractors.</li><li>Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas, and recognize danger and safety hazards, proposing methods to eliminate them.</li></ul>Essential Skills<ul><li>Building engineer experience.</li><li>Possession of EPA CFC and EPA 608 Type II Certification.</li><li>2-4 years of experience in maintaining and repairing commercial building systems.</li><li>Ability to analyze and determine the cause of problems in Commercial or Industrial Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and HVAC systems, and take corrective action.</li><li>Working knowledge of computer applications, including Word and Excel.</li></ul>Additional Skills &amp; Qualifications<ul><li>High School Diploma or equivalent.</li><li>Preferred: EPA 608 Universal Certification.</li><li>Preferred: Two years of trades schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration, and HVAC.</li></ul>Why Work Here?Join a team that values technical expertise and offers opportunities for skill development across multiple craft areas.
