Division: Omaha Main Project Location(s): Springfield, NE 68059 USA Minimum Years Experience: Travel Involved: Job Type: Regular Job Classification: Trade Education: Job Family: Trade Compensation: Non-Union Trade Position Description: Learn and assist with performing tasks involving physical labor and may assist other craft trade workers at construction project sites as assigned and directed. Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities: <ul><li>Comprehend and follow instructions as directed, project site signage, and tool and equipment manufacturers instructions prior to engaging in work. </li><li>Perform work tasks and activities as directed and under supervision, including but not limited to: <ul><li>Review and understand jobsite needs with Superintendents and Foreman. </li><li>Perform physical labor to assist with jobsite clean-up, rough carpentry, site logistics, fencing, deck and platform building, protection systems, and construction waste areas. </li><li>Operate equipment such as forklifts, backhoe, skid steer, excavator, compactors, and construction hoist. </li><li>Gather and transport materials. </li><li>Perform selected demolition. </li><li>Conduct daily review project perimeter for security and cleanliness. </li><li>Assist with construction of scaffolding. </li><li>Perform fire watch duties as needed. </li><li>May assist other craft trade workers as needed. </li></ul></li><li>Assist with project site safety and quality programs and participate daily in Pre-Task Plans. </li><li>Comply with safety protocols, escalate issues, and communicate clearly in emergency situations. </li><li>Follow safety expectations for operation of equipment and tools, select appropriate equipment for performing work, and wear appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment). </li><li>Ensure security of equipment and work areas while conducting operations. </li><li>Inspect manual and power tools prior to use to ensure safe working condition. </li><li>Maintain positive working relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and other employees. </li><li>Display high level of teamwork, integrity, and commitment in daily activities. </li><li>Other activities, duties, and responsibilities to assist other craft trade workers as needed or assigned. </li></ul>Qualifications: <ul><li> Minimum of 6 months of general construction industry experience </li><li>Basic knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in construction or repair of buildings or other structures </li><li>Ability to accurately measure lengths with ruler or tape </li><li>Ability to take direction, follow instructions, and work with supervision </li><li>Clear communication skills </li><li>Ability to apply active listening skills, ask clarifying questions, and follow through on assignments </li><li>Ability to travel and accommodate night and weekend work as needed </li><li>Reliable transportation required </li></ul> Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Frequently: Lifting/lowering/carrying weights 25-50 lbs., reaching above shoulder height, squatting, kneeling, climbing, and working on heights. Occasionally: Sitting, crawling, confined space hazards, and lifting/lowering/carrying weights over 50 lbs.
