Duration: 21 Hours

About the course:

Responsible AI and Risk Management invites you to step confidently into the world of artificial intelligence—not just as a user, but as someone who understands how to apply AI thoughtfully, safely, and effectively. Through real‑world examples and hands‑on reasoning, you’ll learn how to navigate the opportunities and challenges of AI so you can make informed choices in your work, your projects, and your everyday life. In four modules, you’ll build a practical foundation in AI concepts, ethical considerations, risk awareness, and human‑AI decision making. You’ll start by learning how to match AI capabilities to real tasks, then explore fairness, transparency, and common ethical dilemmas in AI tools. From there, you’ll examine risks across the AI lifecycle and learn how to protect data and mitigate potential harms. Finally, you’ll analyze when AI should, or shouldn’t, drive decisions or automation. You’ll bring all of this together in a capstone project where you guide a public health organization through the responsible adoption of AI, applying your skills to evaluate applications, assess risks, and design a thoughtful AI‑supported solution.

Complete the modules and capstone project to earn an industry-recognized IBM SkillsBuild digital credential called Responsible AI and Risk Management.
