The Opportunity

This position is an onsite opportunity in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division. We are helping people with Diabetes lead healthier, happier lives. Consistent and accurate glucose monitoring is the foundation of any diabetes management plan, so we're committed to continuous improvement in the way patients and professionals measure, track and analyze glucose levels.

As a Senior Sales Compensation Analyst, you will be responsible for administration of our incentive compensation management (ICM) system, distribution of incentive compensation plans and goals/quotas for multiple sales channels, ICM data hygiene, and reconciling payout calculations to ensure alignment with Finance and applicable cross-functional teams. You have a passion for sales compensation management, project organization, data hygiene, process automation, and system administration with strong incentive compensation analysis experience at a high-growth organization. Constructing scalable processes and adapting swiftly in ambiguous situations is paramount. You excel in the delicate balance between strategic planning and hands-on execution, demonstrating comfort in diving into the details. Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple high-priority projects are a must. This position will report directly to the Senior Manager, Sales Administration and Incentives . This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate who is looking to join a dynamic Commercial Excellence team at an outstanding Global Leader in diabetes care. This is an onsite opportunity in Alameda, CA.

What You'll Do
  • Effectively manage and administer compensation plans through the compensation management tool, ensuring seamless alignment with business goals, targets, and policy guidelines.
  • Understand current incentive compensation plans for multiple sales and field-based teams and manage our inventory of compensation plan templates to streamline the distribution and signing process for all participants.
  • Maintain data accuracy within our Incentive Compensation Management (ICM) tool and ensure the timely delivery of all quarterly variable compensation payout amounts to Finance & Payroll for processing.
  • Maintain accurate records of all compensation-related information.
  • Conduct goal modeling and advanced analytics to support proposed compensation design scenarios.
  • Collaborate with and present to leadership during the sales compensation design process.
  • Formulate impactful sales compensation plans incorporating industry best practices to motivate US sales representatives.
  • Take a proactive approach in planning and executing end-to-end communication for compensation ad-hoc requests from the business.
  • Serve as the main point of contact and address questions from sales employees and management regarding their compensation plans and payouts.
  • Effectively partner with the IT BRM Business Relationship Manager, clearly communicate requirements for sales compensation plans implementation, ensuring that designs and calculations meet specifications.
  • After IT implementation of sales compensation plans setup, efficiently conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and successfully execute implemented system updates in production.
  • Provide sales management with comprehensive training and enablement materials to enhance their understanding and motivation regarding sales compensation plans.
  • Collaborate with the Incentive Compensation Manager(s) on the monthly/quarterly compensation close process to ensure timely and accurate payout processing & performance reporting.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams in HR, Finance, Commercial Excellence and Sales leadership to build and scale compensation-related processes and policies, leading and driving projects when necessary.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for process optimization and lead efforts to improve the overall sales compensation foundation.
Experience You'll Bring

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Data Analytics or similar field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of sales compensation experience and/or system administration preferably in the Med-Device/Pharma/Bio-Tech industry experience, showcasing a progression in responsibility, complexity, and scale of work.
  • Proven ability to handle the nuance and intricacies of an end-to-end commissions close, including managing accounting and payroll deadlines & receivables.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey information effectively to executives and cross-functional teams at the appropriate cadence.
  • Proficiency in manipulating large data sets and conducting scenario analyses/modeling, with a meticulous focus on accuracy.
  • A strategic and structured thinker with strong analytical skills and business acumen. Ability to frame business questions with data, translate business needs into strategies, and execute tactics and process improvements.
  • Advanced skills and experience in reporting and data analytics tools like Excel, SmartSheet SAS, QlikView, Tableau, Business objects is required.
Preferred
  • Profound knowledge of sales incentive compensation concepts, sales data tracking processes, and methodologies, sales compensation fundamentals such as goal-based incentive plan, quota targets, SPIFFs, accelerations, draw programs, etc.
  • Familiarity with Incentive Compensation Management Solution such as -- Performio, Zeidyn Field Performance, SalesIQ, Xactly, CaptivateIQ, or QuotaPath.

The base pay for this position is $95,500.00 - $190,900.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
