Your Team & Role

As a Vice President, Tech Lead on the cloud team under CTO, you will partner with product owners, designers, engineers and delivery professionals to improve Prudential public cloud platform. You will provide leadership on technical strategy, own the technical and architectural decisions and lead, mentor and coach the technical team as you implement capabilities to solve sophisticated business problems, deploy innovative products, services and experiences to delight our customers! As an executor as well as the innovator behind the technical solution, you will bring excellent problem solving, communication and teamwork skills, along with agile ways of working, strong business insight, an inclusive leadership attitude and a continuous learning focus to all that you do.
  • Drive the Cloud team under CTO vision, ensuring the design of the overall technological architecture of the Cloud team under CTO is comprehensive and sustainable across systems
  • Responsible for technical design and infrastructure / environments strategy, including deployments, ensuring that these are kept in-line with a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) mentality of 'emerging architecture'
  • Collaborate with product owners in designing the roadmap accounting for strengths and opportunities within the technical stack, bringing forward business insight and knowledge to influence decisions
  • Partner closely with solution architect engineers and other tech leads to elaborate the solution, validate technology assumptions, evaluate implementation alternatives, and converge and deliver the final solution supporting current and future needs
  • Guide Agile teams on technology strategy related to coding practices, continuous integration, and automated deployment, as a leader and doer working across the broader organization to build strong partnerships and increase adoption
  • Lead, mentor and coach the technical team on results, timelines as well as career development, bringing an expert understanding of relevant and emerging technologies and role-modeling our continuous learning culture by embedding learning and innovation in the day-to-day
  • Identify and remove technical impediments that may arise within the team as well as removing non-technical impediments such as organizational or business issues
The Skills & Expertise You Bring
  • Bachelor of Computer Science or Engineering or experience in related fields
  • Lead and effectively leverage diverse ideas, experiences, thoughts and perspectives to the benefit of the organization
  • Knowledge of business concepts tools and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business
  • Ability to learn new skills and knowledge on an on-going basis through self-initiative and tackling challenges
  • Excellent executive presence with an ability to translate and communicate sophisticated technical solutions in understandable terms to a broad range of audiences
  • Extensive experience with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure) and cloud infrastructure.
  • Demonstrable experience leading and managing Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams.
  • Strong knowledge of computer software and hardware systems including networks, databases, and encryption.
  • Proficiency in designing, building, and maintaining cloud-native applications.
  • Comprehensive understanding of cloud computing market and ability to drive cloud strategy.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps principles and tools, with an emphasis on deploying and managing infrastructure as code.
  • Familiarity with security principles, and experience implementing security measures on a cloud platform.
  • Experience with budget planning, resource allocation, and project prioritization.
  • Proven ability to lead teams to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to make quick decisions under pressure, considering business requirements and potential risks.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and standards.
  • Ability to drive innovation and stay up-to-date with the latest technological advancements and industry trends.
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth, and dynamic environment.

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $195,100.00 to $263,900.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
