N. American Supply Planning - Direct Material Purchasing


Job Description


The 3rd Party Supply Planning Analyst will be responsible for ensuring all 3rd Party Material is delivered to MSI or to MSI Customers, on-time and in-full. This role will execute a variety of POs (drop-ship, discrete, blanket) to purchase a wide-range of complex 3rd Party materials.

This role will primarily utilize Oracle and MCM (Motorola Collaboration Management, an E2Open platform) for executing their daily responsibilities, in addition to Google Workspace for communicating, tracking, analyzing and performing other tasks as required.
  • Execute Purchasing processes for 3rd Party materials - generate Purchase Orders (PO), transmit to suppliers and work with suppliers on scheduled ship date, ensuring latest commits (promise dates) are updated and reflected in system
  • Manage & resolve all aspects of PO management - past due orders, orders on hold, change orders, price discrepancies, open order reports etc.
  • Manage & respond to internal/external customer expedite requests, work with suppliers on expedite requests and next level escalations as necessary
  • Hold weekly meetings with suppliers to review performance to key metrics, open order report, prioritization, substitutions, etc.
  • Maintain and keep all PO-related data current in ERP and other systems - PO promise dates, open POs, ASN's, receipts, etc.
  • Oversee new supplier setup and onboarding
  • Process RMA requests, obtain supplier approval and credit memos
  • Drive attainment of Purchasing key performance indicators/metrics
  • Provide support to Accounts Payable for payment resolution with supplier such as mismatch quantities/pricing
  • Ensure sufficient supply of materials and components based on supplier LT
  • Generate and maintain weekly reports
Preferred Skills:
  • Good communication skills verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Great time management skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Purchasing/Buy sell work experience, with experience using Oracle MRP and electronic supplier collaboration tools preferred

Basic Requirements


Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, IT, or Supply Chain Management
  • 3+ years of experience working as a Supply Planning Analyst or a Demand Planning Analyst required.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
