Job Title: Designer
Job Description
This role involves creating detailed shop drawings for custom commercial kitchen equipment, including floor plans, elevations, and other specifications. Solid modeling skills are required, and a background in sheet metal is advantageous. You will design custom stainless steel equipment to meet specific customer and industry requirements.
Responsibilities
- Create shop drawings for custom equipment, including floor plans and elevations.
- Design and draft complex parts and assemblies with mechanical design and integration skills.
- Manage large CAD assemblies and associated drawings.
- Assist in establishing improved modeling skills and provide software training for other Design Engineers.
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics for various products and projects.
- Perform solid 3D-modeling using Siemens SolidEdge for sheet metal.
- Design CAD models based on customer specifications and order sheets.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to deliver requested drafts for customer review.
- Simultaneously manage multiple projects, prioritizing deadlines.
- Procure products and draft DXF drawings for laser cutting and bending, as well as electrical drawings.
- Troubleshoot and adapt model files from the CAD library to meet customer specifications.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in design using AutoCAD and SolidWorks or SolidEdge.
- Experience with sheet metal and CAD.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics.
- Knowledge of GD&T for manufacturing sheet metal.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 0-2 years of experience in food service is preferable.
- Experience with sheet metal and interpreting drawings.
Work Environment
The role involves working with advanced CAD software and requires handling large assemblies and various custom equipment designs. You will collaborate closely with project managers and other design engineers, with a focus on improving modeling skills and software proficiency.
