Job Title: Mechanical Process Engineer - Combustion


Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Combustion Engineer to optimize process equipment for improving quality and capacity in thermal processes. You will play a critical role in solving equipment and process problems, driving resolutions for chronic issues, and developing standard practices for thermal and combustion safety processes. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying improvement opportunities and facilitating technology transfer.


Responsibilities

  • Optimize process equipment to improve quality and capacity.
  • Solve equipment and process problems for thermal processes.
  • Lead problem-solving teams and organize support from other resources when necessary.
  • Develop and deploy standard practices for thermal and combustion safety processes.
  • Maintain working relationships with vendors of thermal and combustion equipment.
  • Provide engineering and operational support for large capital improvement projects.
  • Sponsor, participate, and occasionally lead development projects.
  • Advise plant resources on capital and process solutions.
  • Participate in technical assessments of facilities and individual pieces of equipment.
  • Provide equipment, control, and process training to the technical base.
  • Navigate Rockwell PLCs for troubleshooting.

Essential Skills

  • Experience working on and troubleshooting large industrial furnaces.
  • Engineering Degree.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited institution.
  • 5 years of manufacturing experience.
  • 3 years in Thermal and Combustion Safety.

Work Environment

This role is based in an on-site manufacturing environment with standard hours from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. The position involves extensive travel, approximately 50%, including international trips. Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States, and verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Additionally, this position requires access to controlled technology as defined in the Export Administration Regulations and/or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations, where authorizations from the relevant government agency may be necessary to meet export control compliance requirements
