Job Description
The ICT Designer will be primarily responsible for providing data center design services and serving as a Team Leader. The candidate must possess a thorough understanding of data center technology infrastructure design practices, particularly Hyper-Scaler Standards, to effectively liaise with clients, developers, installation contractors, and design team members. The role includes managing a design team of 3 to 5 technology engineers, overseeing client expectations, meeting deadlines, and developing coordinated design solutions for successful project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement ICT data infrastructure for data center technology projects, including outside/inside fiber plant, data cabling pathways, conveyance, grounding, Wi-Fi, and related data systems.
- Manage projects for Hyper-Scaler Single Tenant, Co-Location, and Enterprise Data Centers ranging from 1MW to 108MW and multi-provider campuses.
- Create design construction documents, including drawings and specifications.
- Conduct design reviews using Revit, Autodesk Construction, BuildingConnected, and Bluebeam Sessions.
- Perform on-site inspections and develop field reports, involving national travel to project sites within the continental US.
- Ensure quality control and compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements by directing or coordinating installation, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, documentation, support, or testing activities.
- Assist with business development and client outreach events.
- Must have experience designing technology systems in Revit at a design-engineering firm.
- Proficiency in IT infrastructure, physical security systems, and audio/visual systems.
- Field inspection and quality control skills.
- Proficient in construction document creation and specifications.
- 5+ years of ICT design experience, including designs for physical security systems, IT infrastructure, and audio/visual systems.
- Mandatory skills in Revit and BIM software.
- Data center experience is highly preferred.
- Preferred certifications: RCDD, OSP, PMP, PSP, RTPM, CTS (not required).
- Willingness to travel 1-2 times a month, with all expenses covered.
