Job Title: QC Microbiology Technician I


Job Description

Join our Quality Control team to support efforts in cancer immunotherapy. As a QC Microbiology Technician I, you will be responsible for microbiological testing for clinical and commercial manufactured products, including product testing, microbial growth promotion testing, utility testing, and environmental monitoring.


Responsibilities

  • Perform environmental monitoring of cleanrooms.
  • Collect water samples ensuring timely collection and testing.
  • Conduct and review microbiological assays such as Endotoxin, Sterility, Microbial Identification, Growth Promotion, Bioburden, and Plate Reading.
  • Perform and review visual inspection of final products.
  • Enter data, trend data as needed, and prepare slides for management.
  • Assist in investigations regarding out of specification results and manage deviations related to microbiological procedures.
  • Maintain lab equipment and lab spaces routinely.
  • Review and approve all final product release test results.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with microbiological techniques such as environmental air monitoring, water testing, and surface monitoring.
  • Experience in aseptic techniques and clean room operations.
  • Knowledge of GMP, SOPs, and quality control processes for commercial manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • AA Degree and 1+ years of experience in a Microbiology lab or Environmental Monitoring, or
  • AA Degree and 2+ years of experience in a Microbiology lab or Environmental Monitoring.
  • Ability to gown for entry into aseptic core and supporting areas, and lift approximately 25 lbs.
  • Ability to pass a vision exam for visual inspection.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced small company environment with minimal direction.
  • Flexibility with schedule and ability to work overtime as needed.

Work Environment

The position requires 100% onsite work in a lab environment, operating on a day shift from Wednesday to Saturday, 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, with a 4/10 work schedule. The role involves working in a cleanroom setting and requires adherence to aseptic techniques. The environment is collaborative, fast-paced, and demands adaptability to changing priorities.
