Pharmacy Technician 2

As a Pharmacy Technician 2, you will play a crucial role in the fulfillment process of prescription medications. This involves working directly in the pharmacy with prescription drugs, ensuring accurate dispensing into bottles and packages. You will be known as a 'fulfillment tech' and will be responsible for printing labels, picking drugs from coolers and shelves, and placing them on conveyor lines for pharmacist review.

• Assist the Pharmacist in reviewing, processing, preparing, filling, labeling, and dispensing medications and supplies.
• Arrange work activities to meet the pharmaceutical needs of patients.
• Clean equipment and maintain all required temperature logs in accordance with corporate policies and procedures.
• Check medication and administration supply inventory for out-of-date products, remove these from inventory, and record them in the Expiring Medication log book.
• Assist with full inventory and cycle counts.
• Work with the inventory team to properly store newly received inventory in the pharmacy.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic level PC skills, including using a mouse, starting and closing programs, and saving files.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Experience providing customer service, meeting quality standards, and evaluating customer satisfaction.
• Experience entering data into databases such as Microsoft Access.
• Basic keyboarding skills with minimal errors.

• 1 year of experience as a pharmacy technician filling medications is preferred.
• Pharmacy Technician License or Certification preferred unless required by state.
• Experience with pharmacy technician tasks such as counting medication, order processing, and prior authorization.
• Retail pharmacy experience is a plus.

The Pharmacy Technician 2 will work within a clean and organized pharmacy environment, alongside a team of 20 pharmacists and fulfillment techs. The area is separated from other pharmacy techs and the insurance verification team by a glass wall, offering an open yet organized space. Work hours are between 8 AM and 8 PM, with fluctuating shifts. Current shifts are Monday-Wednesday from 11 AM to 8 PM, Thursday from 9 AM to 8 PM, and Friday from 8 AM to 3 PM, each with a 1-hour lunch break.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of CANTON, MI.
